Derek McCollum

Senior Vice President for PCA & Church Engagement

Rev. Derek McCollum serves as the Senior Vice President for PCA & Church Engagement with RUF. A graduate of Texas State University and Covenant Theological Seminary, Derek began his ministry with RUF as the Campus Minister at the University of Texas. He then joined the pastoral staff of First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge before planting Hope Presbyterian Church in New Braunfels, TX, where he served for nine years.

Derek is passionate about promoting RUF within the local church and promoting the local church within RUF. He is completing a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership at Covenant Seminary, where his research focuses on how pastors build trust in ideologically diverse congregations.

Derek and his wife, Joy, live in New Braunfels, TX, and have three adult(ish) children. He enjoys good coffee, music, Texas Longhorn football, and Dixon Ticonderoga #2 pencils.
