University of Oklahoma

Join us Tuesdays @ 7pm, The Henderson-Tolson Cultural Center; "Rethinking Our Relationships"

RUF at OU is a community of students centered on the story of God's love for the world in the person of Jesus. As we are being shaped by the love of Jesus, we are growing in our love for God, our neighbors, and the world as we seek to serve our campus and community. Although we are a Christian ministry, students from all religious (or non-religious) backgrounds are processing together who Jesus is and what he means for their lives. We are growing together in what it means to be truly human as persons made in the image of God who embody his love for the world.

Meet Our Team

Scott Morris

Scott Morris

Campus Minister

Scott and Helen are displaced Southerners learning what it means to be Okies, “where the wind comes sweeping down the plains.” Scott was born into an army family and has moved all over, mostly growing up in Georgia and Alabama. He graduated with his Bachelor in Chemical Engineering in 2010 from Auburn University. He loves to run, read, do pretty much anything outside, and he loves college football (so we’re in the right place!).

Helen grew up in Florence, Alabama, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Music (Vocal Performance) from Birmingham Southern College in 2011. She also grew up an avid reader, but she exceeds Scott’s capacity for the arts in her love for everything music, from musical theater and opera to praise and worship.

Scott and Helen were both involved in RUF as students, and Scott served as an intern with RUF at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Scott and Helen dated and got married in Birmingham in 2012. After Scott finished up at Samford in 2013, they moved to St. Louis to attend Covenant Theological Seminary. They both graduated in 2016: Scott with a Masters of Divinity, and Helen with a Masters of Worship and Music. They have been so blessed by the ministry of RUF themselves, and they are excited to be called to love and minister to the students of OU. Boomer Sooner!

Ian Jameson

Ian Jameson

Intern

Ian grew up in Rowlett, Texas, just east of Dallas. He went to Texas A&M University where he earned a degree in Psychology. While there, he joined RUF (having heard about it from his older sisters) and found a community unlike any other. Ian hopes to continue further into ministry and eventually into seminary.
If he is not playing video games, or hanging around his house with a coffee in hand, Ian is likely writing one of his four "in-progress" fantasy books. That, or he's just playing D&D.

Kenzie Lasker

Kenzie Lasker

Intern

Kenzie was born and raised in the heart of Georgia and graduated from Valdosta State University. While in college, she majored in Public Relations and was actively involved in various campus ministries. RUF was different though. It was a place where Kenzie found genuine community, the Truth of the Gospel, and opportunities to serve her campus in ways bigger than herself. RUF was a place where she made some of her closest friendships and where she experienced more growth than she could've ever imagined. She's so excited to continue her involvement with RUF over the next few years and hopes to continue in full-time ministry following the internship. When you meet Kenzie, there's a 99% chance she'll have a La Croix in hand and will be talking about her Boston Terrier.
