Meet Our Team
Justin Smith is a native Texan originally from Arlington. He initially got involved with RUF as an undergrad at Belmont University from which he graduated in 2007. Justin met his wife Kathryn (a Vanderbilt grad and RUF intern) at RUF’s summer conference in 2010. A year later they were married and moved to Atlanta where Justin completed seminary at RTS Atlanta. Justin started with RUF at UNT in 2017, and coming from an extensive musical background UNT has been a great fit. Justin and Kathryn both love RUF and are excited about serving the students at UNT. They also enjoy music, trying new foods, day hikes, having folks in their home, and the Texas Rangers. In March 2018 they also welcomed their beautiful daughter, Vivian Elaine to their home!
Clayton was born at Fort Knox in Radcliff, KY, and moved around sporadically throughout the north-to-mid east United States before his father retired and settled in Elizabethtown, KY as Clayton was entering middle school. Later, Clayton studied at Western Kentucky University, where he garnered a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Studies with a Minor in Creative Writing. Clayton grew up in the church from birth onward, but his faith in and love for God didn't truly blossom until he started attending RUF at WKU, where Clayton experienced a stronger and sweeter community than he ever had before or could have hoped for. It is this same warmth and love Clayton hopes to share with the students at University of North Texas. Clayton loves doing virtually anything creative, but especially enjoys drawing, puppetry, listening to and making music with friends, and telling stories.
