University of Nebraska

Thursdays at 7 pm in the JGMC Ubuntu Room

Welcome to RUF at the University of Nebraska! We seek to reach UNL students for Christ and equip them to serve in His Church. There are many ways to get plugged into RUF - through gathering together at our large group events, growing together in small group Bible studies, or connecting one-on-one with our staff. Join us for RUF Large Group on Thursdays at 7pm in the Ubuntu Room at the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center.

Meet Our Team

Thomas Kuhn

Thomas Kuhn

Campus Minister

Thomas was born and raised in North Carolina. He is a graduate of NC State (’13) and Covenant Theological Seminary (’19). Thomas got involved with RUF during his years in college and continued on to work as an RUF Intern after college at the University of Kentucky. He loves coffee, sneakers, fried chicken, watching (and especially quoting) the Office, and cooking. During his time as an intern, Thomas met Molly at a wedding (it was a total “meet-cute”). Molly is a graduate of Appalachian State University (’14) and loves reading, running, trying new recipes, and her planner. The Kuhns are extremely excited to be a part of Husker nation. Go Big Red!

Maggie Mertz

Maggie Mertz

Intern

Maggie was born in Arizona, moved to Hawaii when she was about a year old, then to North Carolina when she was four, and has been there ever since. Collectively she has lived in 10 houses in those three states (and no, her dad isn’t military- he just likes to move). She attended Meredith College in Raleigh, NC (Go Angels!) where she studied computer science, math, and Spanish. Her involvement in RUF began on day one of college when some of her older friends invited her to go with them. Through RUF Maggie found a wonderful community where she was challenged daily to grow in her faith. In her free time Maggie loves reading, baking, playing D&D, rock climbing, hiking, and anything that involves hanging out with her friends! Maggie can’t wait to join RUF at UNL and get to explore another new city and state. Go Big Red!
