University of Georgia

Join us Wednesdays at 7:30PM at Redeemer Presbyterian Church

UGA students from every kind of background have found RUF to be a place of rest amidst the pressure of college life, rich growth in their relationship with God and friends, and a place where lives and struggles are shared together in honest community.

RUF is a community that meets you where you are ("convinced" or "unconvinced", lost or found, burned out or fired up) but doesn't leave you stuck there because God is one who meets us where we are but never leaves us stuck there. So come as you are to explore Christianity and grow in your understanding of who Jesus is and what it means to follow him alongside others at UGA.

Ben Coppedge

Ben Coppedge

Campus Minister

Ben is from Marietta, GA. He went to college at the University of Georgia and lived in Athens, GA, for 10 years. During that time God opened his eyes and brought him to life. It was also during these Athens years that he attended grad school, served as an RUF intern, and began an "awkward friendship" with his future wife, Anna. After working with RUF as an intern for three years, Ben moved to Philadelphia to attend Westminster Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in counseling. A highlight of his time in Philly was getting to minister to students at the University of Pennsylvania... and also reconnecting with that previously mentioned "future wife" who was working in youth ministry in Colorado! Anna and Ben were married in 2012, welcomed their energetic little boy Eli into the family in 2014,  resident drama queen Addie in 2015, and chill Noah in 2017. They spent some of the best 5 years of their lives in gorgeous Las Cruces, NM serving the incredible students at New Mexico State University RUF. Unexpectedly and quite to their surprise, God called Ben and Anna back to Athens in late 2017 to lead this great ministry. They're eager to see the great things our God will do in this new season of ministry.

Ben would love to grab a meal or coffee with you one day and get to know you better. You can reach him at 706-372-4627, Ben.Coppedge@ruf.org, or on Facebook. Anna would also love to get to know and meet up with you ladies. If you want to hang out, you can reach her at 706-338-9721, Akcounts@gmail.com, or on Facebook.

Campus Staff

Originally a midwesterner from Omaha, Nebraska, I still love sunsets and pop and straightforward conversations. In college, I got my first taste of the south when I attended University of Kentucky, where I learned to love sweet tea and basketball. I graduated in 2019 with degrees in Public Relations and Spanish, and moved even further south to Athens, Georgia to intern with RUF at the University of Georgia. I am in love with the gorgeous weather, and still learning to appreciate boiled peanuts. After two years of interning from 2019-2021, I transitioned to the role of Campus Staff in 2021. The students of UGA have my heart, and it's a joy to get to walk with them towards Jesus. May his glory be made more fully known in Athens and beyond. Go Cats and Go Dawgs!

Grace Bailey

Grace Bailey

Intern

As a military kid, Grace grew up all over the U.S., but Utah is home right now. She graduated from Auburn University in 2021 with a degree in Elementary Education and loved her time there. Grace loves hiking, tacos, coffee shops, walks with friends, being creative, and doing just about anything outside! RUF was so impactful to her walk with Christ in college, so she is so excited to walk alongside students at UGA. Grace is ready to find all the best one-on-one spots in Athens and see how the Lord is already working there! Go Dawgs!

Clare Looney Knudsen

Clare Looney Knudsen

Intern

Clare is from Athens, Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Human Development. During her time in college and especially at UGA's RUF, God made it clear to her that he loves to use broken people to further his Kingdom. Because of this and the encouragement of others, she decided to become an RUF intern to share the good news of God’s love and truth with others. After graduation, she married her husband Bradley and jumped straight into the RUF internship. She loves true crime, lasagna, Twin Peaks, and hanging out with all the weirdos. She is so excited to spend time with the students in Athens!

Jeremiah Rinehart

Jeremiah Rinehart

Intern

Jeremiah is from Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from Rhodes College in 2020. While at Rhodes, he studied Spanish and Philosophy. He was involved with RUF at Rhodes College, which led him to the RUF internship. He loves basketball, frisbee, and pickleball. He's super excited to be an intern at the University of Georgia and to experience Georgia football.
