University of Colorado – Colorado Springs

Join us on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM in the UCCS Building Cucharas Room 105

Welcome to RUF in Colorado Springs. We are a Christian Ministry for all college-aged students in Colorado Springs, including UCCS, Colorado College, and Pikes Peak State.

Everyone wants (and needs) to feel welcome, like they belong with and around others. At RUF, we want to create time, space, relationships, and conversations where true welcoming can happen.

This starts with the welcoming God of the Bible, who welcomes us into knowing and being known by his Son, Jesus Christ, in our reconciliation through faith from our sin.

But it does not end there. We are always in need of "re-welcoming" into the life of faith, the community of faith, and the practices of faith.

Wherever you find yourself ("convinced" or “unconvinced," burned or bored, cynical or spiritual, passionate or stagnant), we hope you can come to RUF for welcome from God and from others--and to join in offering welcome others.

"Therefore, welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God."
Romans 15:7

Jonathan Clark

Jonathan Clark

Campus Minister

Jonathan was born and raised in Colorado Springs -- he remembers when Powers Blvd was a two lane road! He grew up playing in the Rocky Mountains--backpacking, climbing, skiing, hiking were his faves. In 2008, Jonathan moved to the east coast for college, studying humanities (he longed to return to Colorado Springs ever since!). In 2014, he moved to St. Louis, MO, for graduate school in theology, where he met Caroline. Caroline grew up in Knoxville, TN. She also completed her degree in theology in St. Louis. Art is her passion, and she currently splits her time between southwest-inspired graphic design, visual art, being a mom, and meeting new friends.

The Clarks love Colorado Springs, creating communities of conversation around faith, beauty, recreation, good food, and mountain adventures! They would love nothing more than to invite you into their house for dinner and fun!

Noah Lykins

Noah Lykins

Campus Assistant

Noah was born and raised in Colorado Springs, and attended the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs for undergrad in early childhood education. He worked with elementary students and children with special needs for several years, then transitioned to working with high school and early college students for another three years.

This this past May he married Jessica! They met in Manitou and bonded over the views... and the lack of oxygen. Their ideal afternoon is a chill bike ride over to Story Coffee  to read and play board games. He and Jess are both starting their masters programs this fall.

Jess grew up in Virginia, and also studied education. She has five siblings that are rotating through staying with them in Colorado for mountain views and good adventures. She is an excellent listener, is delightfully compassionate, and reads an insane amount of books each year.

The Lykins are beyond glad to be in downtown love Colorado Springs. They want to get to know you and get outside with you!

Carrie Humes

Carrie Humes

Campus Staff

Carrie is about as close to being Colorado native as you can get without being born there. She was homeschooled with her two little sisters all the way through high school, after which she took a gap year that never ended. Post high school, she spent three years teaching at her old dance studio, then seven years playing in the dirt at a local plant nursery. Nowadays, Carrie spends half of her time drawing and running the art business she launched in 2023, and half of her time making community with other women. Her young adult years were heavily influenced by the investment of older Christian women in her life, and she’s excited to be pursuing that same calling with the young women of Colorado Springs.

Carrie met Andrew in high school youth group and married in 2019. They started volunteering together as youth small group leaders in 2015, and have been hanging out with students ever since. Andrew grew up always on the move and spent seven years as a missionary kid in Spain. He has an associates from UCCS and now works in cyber security. The Humes love to travel, enjoy the standard outdoor Colorado stuff when they’re home, and habitually snuggle on the couch with a good show or a rousing game of Pass the Pigs.
