Sarah Schmidt

Sarah Schmidt

Campus Staff

Sarah grew up in Fredericksburg, Texas and graduated from SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) with a BFA in Industrial Design. Focusing on humanitarian needs and solving meaningful problems in her design work, God opened the door to the RUF internship for Sarah to serve at SCAD. Throughout her life, Sarah has seen God’s strength made perfect in her own weakness and His Sovereignty reign over every single aspect of life. Sarah and her service dog Texico have lived in 3 different states and 4 different cities together, but nothing has compared to the community they’ve found with RUF at SCAD and IPC in Savannah, Georgia. Sarah is looking forward to re-joining the SCAD community as an Alumna and RUF intern.

Lauren Musachia

Lauren Musachia

Intern

A true Texan, Lauren was born in Houston, Texas, but grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated in 2023 from Emory University with a double major in chemistry and neuroscience & behavioral biology. As a retired collegiate track and field athlete, you can spot Lauren running around town or hiking up a mountain. In her time at Emory, Lauren found a love for chemistry, the brain, and learning about the tiny building blocks that make up our world. She enjoys the puzzle of organic chemistry mechanisms and loves using her passion for science to create art in her free time. Lauren enjoys oil painting, graphite and charcoal drawing, printmaking, and creating digital designs. She also enjoys exploring music and curating oddly specific playlists. Some of Lauren's hobbies include reading good books (she especially enjoys the Harry Potter series), going to the movies, cheering on the Atlanta Braves and watching Alabama Football, drinking good coffee, and spending time outside with people and dogs. Lauren is excited to stay in the great state of Georgia, explore Savannah as her new city, and learn from the students at SCAD!
