Meet Our Team
Ben Spivey
London, England is one of the largest cities in the world and home to over 400,000 college students. Despite the UK’s largely secular landscape—with church attendance having nearly bottomed out—there are encouraging signs of spiritual renewal, particularly among young adults.
The growing movement of young believers and spiritual interest represents both an incredible opportunity and a critical need. There is a need for evangelism and an opportunity for discipleship and pastoral care for young Christians to mature in their faith and become leaders in the church.
With nine years of campus ministry experience and a heart to see Christ known among the nations, the Spiveys are excited to start an RUF Global in London, the first RUF ministry in the UK. Partnering with London City Presbyterian Church, they will focus on reaching and equipping the students of London to see them converted and foster future growth in the church in the UK and globally.
Pray that the Spirit of the Lord would go before the Spiveys, preparing the hearts of students to find their true hope in Christ.
Mary Neill Lucas
Mary Neill grew up in Flat Rock, North Carolina, and graduated from Appalachian State University in 2022. As the daughter of a former Campus Minister, she prayerfully considered following in her dad’s footsteps as an RUF Intern. After spending three years serving at Davidson College, Mary Neill looks back on her time as a season of deep spiritual growth, seeing the love of Christ in her students, and the formation of some of her closest friendships.
Now, she is excited for the opportunity to serve in full-time ministry in London and to see what the Lord has planned.
Mary Neill loves going on long walks with friends, painting, cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors. Her favorite moments are those spent playing games and having meaningful conversations with friends. She looks forward to exploring London and building lasting friendships with students there.
Emma Pearson
Emma was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, and moved to Georgia when entering middle school. She graduated from the University of Georgia (go dawgs!) in 2022, and went on to intern at Texas A&M University (gig 'em ags!) for 3 years. RUF became a home for her during her time at UGA, and that grew exponentially during her time at A&M. In RUF she has made her closest friends and felt the freedom to experience the love of Christ fully, and grow into who He is making her to be. During her time at A&M, she felt a call to full time ministry and is so excited about serving the people of London.
In her free time, Emma will probably be watching reruns of her favorite films, drawing, or thrifting. She loves the city of London more than anywhere in the world, and is an avid lover of compelling, redemptive stories. Most of all, Emma loves her friends and making new ones.
