RUF is a campus ministry that longs to embody the radical love of Jesus. At RUF we don't want to pretend we have it all together. We are people in need of God's grace. Because of this, ALL are welcome to be a part of RUF, regardless of your spiritual/religious background or beliefs. RUF exists for the convinced and unconvinced, the anxious and the depressed, the burned, bored, cynical and spiritual.
Whoever you are and whatever your story, RUF exists for you!

Meet Our Team
Will Barbour
Will was born and raised in Boone, NC. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill ('13) and Reformed Theological Seminary Charlotte ('19). Before entering seminary, Will served as the RUF Intern at the University of South Carolina for three years. During the internship, Will met his wife Hayley, who was serving as the RUF Intern at Wofford College. Hayley is a graduate of Western Kentucky University ('15). The Barbours currently have 3 kids in their home ages 5, 3, and 3 months. You can usually find the Barbours at a playground, riding bikes, or eating cheese dip!
Emma Cade Marshall
Emma Cade was born and raised in beautiful Asheville, NC. She graduated from Anderson University in 2025 with a degree in Elementary Education. Emma Cade loves to travel, hike, watch a good movie, and hang out with the girls. She is so excited to love and serve the students of East Tennessee State!
Aaron Sorrow
Aaron was born and raised in beautiful Rome, Georgia. He graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2024 with a degree in Integrated Studies. He can be found playing music with friends, playing any kind of sport, or hanging out with the fellas. Aaron is so excited to love and serve the students of East Tennessee State!
