RUF LEADERSHIP UPDATE

At the most recent meeting of the Permanent Committee for Reformed University Fellowship on August 19, 2024, Mr. Will Huss announced his intention to step down from his position as National Coordinator in the upcoming year. Mr. Huss’ resignation will be effective June 27, 2025, following the regularly scheduled meeting of the General Assembly. The Permanent Committee is grateful for the ministry and impact of Will Huss. The Lord has graciously used him and his leadership to help RUF mature in organizational health, financial stability, ecclesiastical connection, and ministry development all toward our goal of reaching students for Christ and equipping them to serve. We celebrate his ministry among us and look forward to his service to RUF and the PCA over the next 10 months.

In response to this announcement, Huss notes, “The years have been a deep blessing to me as I have had the chance to serve an organization that I love. The Lord used RUF in my life, my wife’s life, in our marriage, in the lives of my children, and in a profound way to help us grasp the grace of the gospel as we follow Christ. I am forever grateful for RUF and continue to believe deeply in the mission of equipping greater numbers of students to know and serve Christ on the college campus with the vision to build the future Church. While I believe the time has come to step out of this current role to make way for leadership who can take the baton for the road ahead, I am committed to seeing RUF prosper and succeed. I am making this announcement now in order to best assist the Permanent Committee in its search process in the months ahead. Missy and I are grateful to have had the chance to serve RUF in this role and excited for the Lord’s continued leading of this incredible ministry in the years ahead.”

Over the last six years, Will Huss has served as the National Coordinator for RUF leading the ministry through a number of substantial organizational initiatives including growing to over 190 ministries, developing a new recruiting model for future ministry staff, securing the cooperative ministry agreements, as well as celebrating the 50th anniversary of the ministry. During this time, Mr. Huss has also led the ministry to launch its current “Bright Hope for Tomorrow” capital campaign, which, to date, has raised over $18M in gifts and commitments to fund the vision of increasing the ministry by over 20,000 students each week through RUF campuses, across the US and overseas.

We praise God for Will’s leadership and service at RUF and the impact he has had on the ministry overall. We appreciate his commitment to serve through next summer to help ensure a smooth transition moving forward. Join me in praying for Will and his wife, Missy, as they enter this new phase of work and ministry to serve Christ and His Kingdom.

In Christ,

Rev. Josh Martin, Chair, Permanent Committee
