Rev. Kevin Twit is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and Covenant Theological Seminary. He served as a Pastor at Christ Community Church for 8 years and has been the RUF Campus Minister at Belmont University in Nashville TN since 1995. In 1999 Kevin began Indelible Grace Music with some of his students. Indelible Grace has been at the heart of the movement to reset old hymn texts to new music and have recorded 8 CDs as well as a documentary film, “Roots And Wings: The Story Of Indelible Grace And The RUF Hymns.” Kevin is married to Wendy (a professional photographer) and they have 3 children, including a daughter they adopted from China in 2005. Kevin is also an adjunct Professor at Covenant Seminary and Belmont University teaching classes in hymnody and has lectured widely on topics of hymns and worship.
Wendy grew up in Columbia, TN and graduated from Tennessee Tech with a BSN in Nursing. She moved back to Nashville to work at Vandy to pay the bills but her passion was to work with college girls at the newly started Belmont RUF. She even talked to the new Campus Minister (Kevin) about quitting nursing to go be an RUF intern. He convinced her to stay and lead a bible study and volunteer for Belmont RUF. So she stayed and ended up getting married to that campus Minister in 1998. Still volunteering with the RUF women 24 years later and she loves it. She went back to school once her daughter went to Kindergarten to study Photography. She does that part time. Wendy worked part time for Parakaleo for 4 years coming alongside women in ministry. Now she is coming on part time Campus Staff with RUF and is excited to walk alongside RUF women. Wendy and Kevin have 3 teenagers(one in college). Wendy likes to go to dance class, hike at Radnor Lake, watch movies and play Settlers in her spare moments.
Kat Yoakum graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Socio-Cultural Anthropology, and a fostered love for the outdoors. Her time at App State was greatly affected by her time with RUF, where she made friends, served, and learned more about the Gospel of Jesus which inspired the desire to work as an intern for RUF. She grew up in Greenville, North Carolina with her mom, Laura and an amazing church family. Kat loves spending time with her dad, Grant, in Richmond, VA. Kat got married to the most fun and supportive person she knows in the summer of 2017. Kat and JD enjoy coffee, movies, anything outside, and baking obscure recipes.
Kat is so grateful for the opportunity to work with students at Belmont, and serving with RUF!
