Western Kentucky University

Join us every Wednesday at 8:00 PM CST in the DSU

Our mission in RUF at WKU is to reach students for Christ and equip them to serve. What this means is we long to be a ministry that demonstrates and offers the generous kindness of Jesus Christ to all students on campus, and invite them into a community where they can experience, receive and grow in his love during college. We seek to accomplish this mission through nights of worship every Wednesday, weekly small groups discussions and Bible studies, one on one conversations, and also through conferences and parties. No matter who you are, or what you believe, we hope you will join us and experience for yourself the welcome and hospitality of the Lord Jesus.

Meet Our Team

James Jardin

James Jardin

Campus Minister

James was born in Italy as the son of a career Air Force officer. He first attended University of West Florida for two years and then finished the last two years and graduated from Valdosta State University where he received a degree in Music (vocal performance) and met his lovely wife, Leah. James and Leah married in July 2004 and have three sons, Solomon, Micaiah (twins born 2011), and Boaz (born 2014). James graduated from Covenant Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in May 2015. Coming from working as a youth minister since 2015 and transitioning to the university setting, James and Leah are so excited that God has called them to Western Kentucky University to share the love of God through King Jesus with the students there.

Peyton Gunter

Peyton Gunter

Intern

Peyton grew up in Trussville, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) where he graduated with a major in Psychology and a minor in Business Administration. A friend invited Peyton to RUF when he was a freshman, which allowed him to meet some of his closest friends and grow in his understanding of how awesome Jesus is. The interns at UAB helped his RUF in so many different ways, so Peyton is excited to hopefully do the same as an intern at WKU! Peyton loves hiking, watching Netflix, hanging out at coffee shops, and playing disc golf.

Leslie Howe

Leslie Howe

Intern

Leslie was born and raised in Tupelo, Mississippi. She attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and transferred to Belhaven University, where she received a degree in Sports Medicine and Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. She grew up attending church in Tupelo and getting involved with RUF in college is something she looked forward to. RUF at Belhaven provided her an incredible community of friends and allowed her to grow in her faith much more than she expected. She is excited to be an intern at WKU and to help and be a friend to others like her intern was for her. Leslie loves coffee, running, listening to music and reading, but mostly coffee.
