RUF Tyler seeks to be a community of students at UT Tyler and Tyler Junior College who are growing in our faith; learning to love God, love others, and love our campus. RUF welcomes the committed and the seeking, the convinced and the skeptical. We are a community where no matter what your background or belief (or doubt) you can explore Christianity, grow in your understanding of Jesus, and learn what it looks like to walk with him. We hope you'll join us!

JB Wilbanks
JB began serving as the RUF campus minister in Tyler in the Fall of 2017. He grew up in the small town of Linden in East Texas and attended Texas A&M for an undergrad in Psychology. It was at A&M that JB met his wife Allison. JB received his Masters of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. He previously served as the Assistant Pastor and Minister to Students at Christ Church in Mansfield, TX before being called to RUF Tyler. JB and Allison have three children, Lillian (born April 2015), John (born February 2017), and Clara (born April 2020). JB loves reading, hunting, backpacking, golfing, and, above all else, playing with his kids.

Abby Plott
Abby graduated from Samford University with a degree in Human Development and Family Science and a minor in Arabic. RUF was a vital part of her community and growth during college, where she fostered a passion for overseas missions and local ministry. Abby is excited to continue growing and serving with RUF in Tyler. Abby loves coffee, photography, and playing all the sports, especially volleyball. She loves to travel, and is always down for a beach trip.
