University of Mississippi

Join us Wednesdays at 7:30pm at Paris-Yates Chapel on campus

Welcome to RUF Ole Miss. We are a campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) that welcomes students from any and all walks of life. Students from a wide variety of church and religious backgrounds are involved here at Ole Miss. We are here for the "convinced" and the "unconvinced."

Our ministry is centered upon the person and work of Christ. We believe the Christian life is not primarily about what we do, but rather who we are. RUF is focused on helping students learn to live all of life in light of God's Word and his work on their behalf.

God created us to live in relationship with himself and our fellow man. Unfortunately sin has wrecked our lives and relationships. It is our desire to help students understand and apply the redemptive work of God in their lives. We want to show students how they are to live in relationship with God and one another.

Meet Our Team

Austin Braasch

Austin Braasch

Campus Minister

Austin is from Birmingham, AL, and attended the University of Alabama where he graduated in 2014. Austin met his beautiful wife of over 9 years, Kristen, at Alabama where they were deeply involved in campus ministry. After graduating, Austin started working with the youth ministry at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Birmingham and earned his Master of Divinity at Beeson Divinity School. Austin planted RUF Arkansas State in 2019 and was there for three years before taking the Campus Minster role at Ole Miss. Kristen is from Jackson, MS, and she works part-time as a Physical Therapist. They have a 4-year-old son (John) and a 1-year-old girl (Blair).

Emmy Johnston

Intern

Emmy is from the small town of Travelers Rest, SC, and graduated from Samford University with a degree in Special and Elementary Education. She began attending RUF at Samford her freshman year and saw the Lord use his people to do transformative work in her community. While at Samford, Emmy was encouraged by her RUF minister to consider a career in vocational ministry because of her love for intentional relationships. The Lord used her student teaching internships and work at summer camp to cultivate that desire further, and the internship was the perfect next step. She is very excited to serve as an intern at Ole Miss and see God work in new ways! Emmy enjoys spending time outside, going for runs, playing pickleball, and can’t resist a good cup of coffee!

Sarah Randle

Sarah Randle

Intern

Sarah grew up in Lexington, KY and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Hospitality! She grew up in the church and started attending RUF with her older sister her senior year of high school. She formed precious friendships through her time in RUF at UK and cannot wait to form relationships with the students at Ole Miss! Sarah most enjoys talking to people, reading, traveling to new places, and experiencing good food! (Honorable mention is listening to Taylor Swift). Sarah is thrilled to move to Oxford and see the work God is doing at the University of Mississippi; Go cats- Hotty Toddy!

Caedmon Uhren

Intern

Caedmon grew up as a covenant child in Southeast Florida and was homeschooled alongside his two younger sisters. He received his bachelor's degree in Analytics and Informatics from Florida Gulf Coast University. FGCU RUF blessed him with a Christ-centered community and equipped him to serve through opportunities to lead small groups, emcee Large Group, host events, and have one-on-ones with students. The radical impact he saw RUF have on his own life as well as the lives of many friends left him feeling like he wasn’t ready to move on from this ministry yet, so he is very enthusiastic about continuing with RUF as an intern. His hobbies include playing whatever sport, board game, or video game that he and his friends are currently obsessed with (right now it’s basketball, Here To Slay, and Marvel Rivals), collecting and listening to vinyl records of his favorite albums (most recent additions are The People We Became and Behold the Lamb of God), and reading high-fantasy books with an unreasonable amount of pages (especially anything by Brandon Sanderson). He can’t wait to see how the Lord continues to work in him and through him at Ole Miss… Hotty Toddy!
