Thanks for checking out RUF at the University of Maryland. We would love to meet you and have you connect to our ministry here on the campus in College Park. We are a diverse group of students seeking to know and grow in the life giving message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our weekly Supper Club each Wednesday night at 6pm in the STAMP is the door way to our ministry and a great place to make friends, enjoy a free dinner, learn about the Christian Gospel and worship in song and praise. There are multiple ways to connect whether including weekly small group Bible discussions, service projects, mission trips and conferences. Please let us know how we can serve you.

Chris Garriott
Chris is in his 13th year as RUF Campus Minister at the University of Maryland. Chris grew up in the Baltimore area and was greatly impacted by the ministry of Young Life and his church youth ministry. After community college he finished his engineering degree from Geneva College and worked in transportation engineering for several years. During this time he began sensing God's call to go to seminary and study the Bible and theology. This call took him to Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. After seminary Chris taught Bible and coached baseball at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis and then did youth ministry for 8 years at Heritage Presbyterian church in Oklahoma City. Chris loves sports, reading history and playing the guitar in his spare time.
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact Chris by email at cgarriott@ruf.orgor by phone at (301)-448-9047.

Amanda Jakana
Amanda (Cunningham) Jakana was born in Wasilla, Alaska and moved to Richford, Vermont with her family when she was 14 years old. She then attended and graduated from the University of Vermont (UVM) where she received a Bachelor’s in Social Work. She was part of RUF at UVM all four years of college and loved it so much that she decided she wanted to work for RUF. After graduating from UVM in 2019, Amanda applied to become a RUF intern and was placed at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She also met her fiancé, Caleb Jakana, during her first year of the internship and they married in June 2021! — Their experiences as RUF interns at LSU is something they’ll cherish forever. Amanda is so excited to continue working for RUF as Campus Staff at the University of Maryland! She and Caleb look forward to meeting the students and exploring their new city!
