Welcome to RUF at UC Irvine! We are a community committed to exploring and living the good news of Jesus together on campus. We have lots of opportunities to study the Bible, hang out, and eat (a lot of) food together. Regardless of your beliefs or doubts, RUF is a safe place to connect, ask questions and learn who Jesus is and what he's doing in your life.

Large Group: Throughout the school year, we meet together on Wednesday nights for a time of fellowship over food, worship, and teaching. Join us!
Bible Studies: We have several Bible studies each week throughout the school year -- contact us!
Fun Friday Hangs: Check Instagram for hangouts every other Friday throughout the school year.

Meet Our Team
Derek Rishmawy
Derek is an OC native and UC Irvine Alumnus, class of 2007 (Philosophy). He and his wife McKenna have been happily married for thirteen years and have two children, Constantine and Cate. He holds an M.A. in Theological Studies from Haggard School of Theology and is currently wrapping up a Ph.D. in systematic theology (still in process) at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. In his free time--that small slice which is not given to time with the toddlers--he likes to spend with his wife, reading theology and fiction, grabbing coffee with friends, watching old Batman cartoons, and doing a little bit of writing.
Jackie Lee
Jackie grew up in Los Angeles County and attended UCLA, where she was involved with RUF and came to better know and experience the grace of God through the staff and community there. After graduating with a degree in cognitive science, she served as an RUF Intern at UCI for three years and is excited to stay there as Campus Staff!
She loves live music & theater, baking, beach sunrises, sewing, quality conversations with friends, and ranking espresso tonics. She looks forward to walking alongside UCI students and pointing them to the hope that we have in Jesus—as well as the best coffee and matcha in OC. She would love to get to know you and invite you into the community of RUF!
Carson Campbell
Carson was born and raised in Decatur, Alabama with his sister Elle and their local hot air balloon festival. He became involved in RUF at Mercer University his junior year after realizing his deep longing for community and the fact God created his children to live in it. He tangibly saw God's grace and his infinite love through the lifelong friends he made in his upperclassman years in Macon. He's pumped to serve at UC Irvine and help create a place where students can thrive in community and enjoy Christ like he experienced in college. On any given day, you can find Carson enjoying a good cup of coffee, reading books on theology (or Harry Potter), rock climbing or watching Wes Anderson films.
