University of Alabama RUF International

Welcome to the University of Alabama! No matter where you're from, how long you've been here, or what your plans are, we hope to help you find a home here. There are over 1300 international students at Alabama, representing 96 different nations and territories, all of whom are not only trying to figure out how to succeed at their studies, but how to navigate life in a new place, and all the stressors that that brings.

RUF-I is a new Christian student organization that seeks to welcome international students in the name of Jesus Christ, and help them navigate life in Tuscaloosa through friendship, hospitality and community. If you are an international student - we'd love to meet you, get to know you, your story, build friendships, community, help make you experience the local culture, and understand the good news of Jesus.

Fraser Perrett

Fraser Perrett

Campus Minister

Fraser grew up in Georgia—just a few hours' drive from Tuscaloosa—but has lived on three different continents, and knows both the joys and the challenges of life in a new place and a new culture. As a result, he loves making friends with people from all over the world, not only learning about their home cultures and families, but about them as individuals.

He has spent 12 years ministering in college campuses and cities around the world, helping people connect their stories to the great story of God's work in the universe, and is excited to continue this ministry at the University of Alabama!

When he's not on campus Fraser loves spending time outside with his wife Whitney and their son Charlie, hiking, camping, gardening, biking, or checking out new restaurants and coffee shops

Ava Concannon

Intern

Ava was born, homeschooled, and brought up in the faith in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she first developed a love for reading, the outdoors, and her Reformed Christian faith. This love grew throughout her classical Christian education in middle and high school. For college, she moved to Tuscaloosa to study kinesiology at the University of Alabama. Throughout her four years there, Ava participated in RUF, undergraduate research, and international travel, and found a home-away-from-home in her local church. She is excited to help usher the nations into the local church as she stays in Tuscaloosa as a RUF-International Intern!
