As a Christian ministry at USAFA, we strive to reach cadets with the good news of Jesus Christ, equip cadets to grow in their faith, and deploy cadets into the Air Force as servant leaders. RUF seeks to be a Christ-centered and Gospel-driven community that is honest, authentic, and real. We strive to know one another (the good and the bad), love one another (deeply and truly), and restore one another (graciously and boldly). We are a Jesus-learning and Jesus-loving fellowship with a deep desire to be blessing to others.
Jesus said that he did not come to save the righteous, but sinners. At RUF, we do not wish to pretend to have it all together. We are imperfect people who are in constant need of grace. Consequently, all are welcome to be part of our group, regardless of personal or religious background. RUF exists for the convinced and the unconvinced, the lost and the found, the burned and the bored. If this sounds interesting to you, please contact us. We would love to get to know you!

Jeff Kreisel
When asked where he is from, Jeff responds with a resounding “Merica!” Raised in an Army family, Jeff has lived everywhere from Virginia to Alaska, Kentucky to Kansas, and Georgia to Germany. Jenn, on the other hand, is a Texan through and through! The two met while students at Baylor University where they were actively involved with RUF. Shortly after graduating in 2007, they were married and moved to Maine, where Jeff began an eight-year career in the United States Air Force as an Airfield Operations Officer. The Air Force would then take them on a wild ride around the world, including 5 moves and 2 deployments.
The Lord graciously used these experiences to reveal a passion in their hearts for full-time ministry, so with joyful trepidation, Jeff separated from the Air Force to attend Redeemer Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity. In addition, Jeff serves as a Chaplain (Major) in the Army Reserves. For fun, the Kreisels enjoy traveling so Jeff can collect cheesy fridge magnets, snowboarding trips so Jenn can lounge in the lodge, and family movie nights with their four amazing kids (Abby Jo, Ruth, Betsie, and Philip)! The Kreisels endeavor to reach, equip, and deploy cadets into a hurting world with the life-transforming love of Jesus Christ.
Jennifer Kreisel
As a proud Texan, Jenn never thought she’d leave God’s country. However, when she and Jeff were married in 2007, the Lord had different plans for their life. After graduating from Baylor University with a degree in Early Childhood Education, Jenn and Jeff began their adventure in the United States Air Force— he as an Airfield Operations Officer and she as a military spouse and teacher. During this time, they faced seasons, both good and difficult, that stirred in their hearts a desire to serve military persons and point them to Jesus. Having been apart of and greatly impacted by the sweetness of RUF while at Baylor, it was a beautiful part of God’s will for their lives to call them to the United States Air Force Academy in 2017. Jenn loves meeting with and serving the cadets at USAFA, and can usually be seen with what she lovingly calls her “Kreisel Crew,” (their 4 children) Abigail, Ruth, Betsie, and Philip in tow.
Ashley Lanier
Ashley was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia and always wanted to go to the University of Georgia. She graduated from UGA in May of 2023 with a degree in Real Estate, and needless to say, winning 2 National Championships in her time there was one of the biggest highlights! God used the community of love and support Ashley found at RUF and her desire to move out West to lead her to apply to be an RUF intern, and she is thrilled to be the first female RUF intern at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs! In her free time, Ashley loves horseback riding, ice skating, watching movies and TV shows, and hanging out with friends. She grew up on the classics, so her favorite movies are Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Avatar! Ashley is excited to see the Lord work through Falcon RUF and to be able to spend time with the cadets at USAFA especially through beach volleyball, hiking, and skiing.
Abby Mackey
Abby grew up in the small town of Haddonfield, New Jersey, and attended Emory University in Atlanta, where she graduated with a BS in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. RUF was a continual place of encouragement, growth and friendship for Abby. She has seen the Lord work so much through this ministry and she can’t wait to get involved with Falcon RUF! Abby is a major Philadelphia sports fan and when she’s not cheering on her favorite teams you can find her playing spikeball, volleyball or almost anything competitive. In her free time, Abby also loves hiking, cooking, playing board games, hanging out with friends and family and watching reality TV.
