Join us 6pm Monday or Thursday for Around the Table

RUF is a Christian ministry at Queens University of Charlotte.

Whatever your background or beliefs, all Queens students are welcome at RUF! We are a ministry where students can befriend each other in community, experience rest through the life-giving gospel of Jesus, and serve together for the good of others.

We would love to get to know you! Please email our campus minister or an intern and we’ll be in touch!

Josh Grimm

Josh Grimm

Campus Minister

Josh is from Charleston, SC and graduated from Erskine College (where he was involved with RUF as a student) in 2009 with majors in Bible/Religion and Philosophy. In 2010 he met his now wife, Ashley, who works as a pediatric nurse. After marrying in 2012, Josh and Ashley moved to Charlotte where Josh graduated from RTS Charlotte with an MDiv in 2015. Josh and Ashley have a son, Isaac, and two daughters, Ruby and Eliza. When he's not spending time with Ashley, playing with his kids, or hanging out on campus, Josh enjoys watching baseball (where he is committed to the pain of being a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan) and college basketball, listening to jazz, and playing tennis.

Nick DeVusser

Nick DeVusser

Intern

Nick grew up in Johnson City, TN where he met his wife, Sarah. He studied Exercise Science at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. After the RUF internship, Nick hopes to go to RTS in Charlotte with plans to get an MDiv and eventually be an RUF Campus Minister.

If he is not working out, reading theology, spending time with his wife, or playing with his dog, he is probably rewatching The Office for the 900th time.

Carson Winkel

Carson Winkel

Intern

Carson grew up in Rockwall, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. He volunteered at his church's youth group for three years. During that time, Carson grew to love the church and its community, and knew he wanted a similar community like it, which he found in RUF. He got a degree in Psychology at the University of Oklahoma. Through RUF at OU, Carson got involved as a student leader, developed great friendships, and met his wife, Erica. Carson loves watching engaging TV shows and movies, playing video games, and discovering enjoyable music.
