RUF at LSU is a Christian organization where all are welcome regardless of personal or religious background. RUF is here for the “convinced” and the “unconvinced,” the lost, the found, the burned, bored, cynical, spiritual, etc. We invite you no matter where you are in the process, to RUF at LSU. If you are sending a student to LSU (family or friend) we would love to connect with them!
Meet Our Team
Before becoming the campus minister at LSU, Ande and Kelly served in RUF for eight years at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Ande grew up in Naples, Florida, and went to UCF to play baseball. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration. While at UCF, Ande met his wife Kelly who was studying Communicative Disorders also at UCF. After graduation he went to Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando graduating with a Masters in Divinity while Kelly stayed at UCF to get her masters.
Ande and Kelly have two sons and a daughter: Owen (6), Knox (4), and Harper (1)
Josh was born in Columbus, Georgia and moved to Sofia, Bulgaria in 2010 with his family where they served as missionaries with Mission to the World. After returning to Georgia and graduating from high school in 2017, he attended Georgia Southern University where he would meet his future wife Caroline and get connected with RUF for the first time. In 2019, he transferred to the University of Georgia to pursue a career in the music industry. In Athens, he worked as a session musician and recording artist, graduating from UGA in 2021 with a BBA in marketing and a certificate in music business. Josh loves music and intends to work in the music industry post-RUF. He is a member of two bands in Athens: Pulaski & Co., a worship band dedicated to making great art inspired by the Gospel, and Humble Plum, a rock band that makes albums as fast as possible. He plays bass and guitar professionally and has a heart for worship and honoring God by making great music. He also enjoys sports (especially baseball,) the outdoors, chess, art, and boats. During the coronavirus pandemic, although building a career as a musician, Josh sensed a call to serve the campus ministry that had served him so well at both schools, and cannot wait to move to Baton Rouge with his new wife and build relationships with the students at LSU!
Sydney grew up moving all over the US as the daughter of an Army chaplain. She graduated high school in Clarksville, Tennessee, and majored in English at Clemson University and graduated in May of 2020. While at Clemson, she was very involved in RUF, and was a co-leader for the Community Team, also leading Bible studies and community groups. She loves running, going to college football games, McDonald's ice cream cones, and guinea pigs. Sydney is so thankful for RUF and is so excited to continue being a part of it serving as an intern at LSU!
