Meet Our Team
Jermaine Van Buren
Jermaine Van Buren Jr. is from Hattiesburg, MS and graduated from Oak Grove High School in 2016. After receiving a Bachelor of Science-Communication Arts (Theatre) from Troy University, Jermaine then received his Master's of Divinity-Counseling Emphasis from RTS Jackson. Jermaine is married to Laurie Upchurch Van Buren (his best friend!); she is a Licensed Professional Counselor who primarily specializes in play therapy, and they live in the Fondren area. His favorite hobbies include playing card and board games, reading about MS black history, going to the movies, bowling, pickleball, and listening to live music!
Jermaine's life verse is Galatians 2:20. "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son go God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Joshua Farrington
Joshua Farrington is a recent graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with an Entrepreneurship degree. He will spend the next two years at Jackson State University. Joshua has been exposed to Christianity and church life since he was young but made his faith his own at 12 years old. At 12, he experienced the miraculous power of God's healing as he battled viral meningitis. As Joshua was going into college, he was hungry for a spiritual community and soon found RUF. As he got more involved with RUF, he felt like God called him to ministry. Through RUF Joshua was involved in the worship team, led a small group, and helped on the Ministry team. When Joshua is free, he usually likes to play basketball, watch movies, take pictures, and socialize with friends.
