A Community of Students Who Love Jesus, Love Each Other, & Love Mines

RUF is a campus ministry at Mines that seeks to meet students with the love of Jesus right where they are.

Peter Scheidt

Peter Scheidt

Campus Minister

Hailing originally from the South, Peter discovered RUF as a student at Georgia Tech where he became enraptured with the grace of Christ. After earning a BS in Aerospace Engineering he worked for an aircraft design and manufacturing company for several years before realizing Christ was so beautiful he had to tell people about Him. Peter attended seminary at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC, where he spent his time studying, working as a whitewater raft guide and instructor, and most importantly falling in love with a redhead named Bekah who (astonishingly!) agreed to marry him. They pastored multiple churches in the Charlotte region and lived several years in New Hampshire before moving to Denver in 2023. Peter and Bekah are thrilled that God has called them to start a new chapter of RUF at the Colorado School of Mines and can't wait to be with students, hear their stories, and show them the lavish, magnificent love of Jesus! In their spare time you can find them, along with their son Caleb, cooking delicious food, playing with their cats Gimli and Gandalf, and doing just about anything to explore the outdoors.

Audrey Clarke

Audrey Clarke

Campus Staff

Audrey is from Allentown, PA, and attended the University of Pittsburgh, where she played lacrosse and received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering. It was in Pittsburgh, her senior year of college, that she came to know the Lord, and He radically changed her heart. After graduate school, Audrey moved to Nashville to pursue a career in Mechanical Engineering at a medical device start-up company. However, after a year into her career, God moved in big ways and led her into full-time ministry. Her own experience of becoming a believer in college gives her a unique understanding and empathy for the challenges and questions that students face during this transformative period. In her free time, you can find Audrey rock climbing, backpacking, snowboarding, hiking...basically anything involving the outdoors.

Gabe Wood

Intern

Gabe grew up in Denver, taking advantage of the mountains while backpacking and hiking. He then went to Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, studying psychology and philosophy. While at school he worked as an elementary after-school tutor and behavioral therapist. He escaped Michigan winters and returned to Denver after finishing at Calvin, and worked at the Denver Botanic Gardens for a year. He is excited to have the unexpected opportunity to serve at Colorado School of Mines, and can't wait to get on campus! In his free time, Gabe is searching for people to play sports with, learning to play the piano, and listening to R&B and vocal jazz. Recently he has enjoyed discovering and exploring the Old Testament references made by Jesus in his teachings.
