Meet Our Team

Matthew Terrell

Matthew Terrell

Campus Minister

Matt hails from Atlanta, GA and is happily married to Megan. They have three children - Eliot, Zoey and Margaret. After graduating from Clemson University, Matt worked in the business world for a year and a half before moving to St. Louis where he and Megan both earned graduate degrees in theology. Before moving to New York they lived and worked in Birmingham, AL. Though now living in the Concrete Jungle, Matt still loves being active outdoors - fly fishing, hiking, exploring. But his favorite hobby is food. He has carefully curated his favorite places to eat hamburgers, donuts, and ice cream in NYC and would love for you to join him on a food adventure!

Megan Terrell

Megan Terrell

Campus Staff

Megan is from Greenville, SC and attended Clemson University for undergrad.  There she met her husband, Matthew, while getting her bachelors degree in Psychology.  After graduating and getting married they ventured out of the South to go to seminary in St. Louis, MO, where she earned a MA in Educational Ministry.  Megan and Matthew moved to Birmingham after completing their respective seminary degrees so that Matthew could begin working with RUF at Samford University.  Four years and three kids later, they moved their family to NYC to continue working with RUF in a new context.  While NYC is very different from anywhere Megan has lived before, she has grown to truly love it and feel at home there.  When she is not at one of the many wonderful playgrounds with her kids, Megan enjoys running along the Hudson River  and visiting the local coffee shops for a delicious and possibly overpriced cappuccino.  When she is not out and about, Megan enjoys sitting down with a good book- she recently finished Liturgy of the Ordinary and Educated, and has plans to reread the last book in the Harry Potter series in the near future.  Megan is thrilled to officially join the RUF staff in NYC after years of volunteering with the ministry, and looks forward to mentoring and discipling students to a deeper understanding of and relationship with Jesus.

Grace Catherine Beckham

Grace Catherine Beckham

Intern

Grace Catherine (friends call her GCat) spent the first 18 years of her life in Mountain Home, a small town in the Ozarks of north-central Arkansas. After experiencing a call to ministry in late high school, Grace Catherine moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University and graduated in May of 2024 with a degree in Christian Leadership and Psychology. Beginning her sophomore year, she found a home in Belmont RUF, a space to rest and to wrestle, to experience refreshment, renewal, and deep redemption amidst some of the hardest seasons of her life. To her, RUF has been not just a ministry but a family!

One of her favorite things is sitting intentionally with people and listening — she loves asking questions and chasing stories all the way down, as well as naming the beauty in the mundane moments of each day. Grace Catherine has a passion for words, whether written, spoken, sung, or proclaimed, and loves to bask in the call to write with the Lord. On any given day, you can find her (likely donned with sunflowers or overalls) reading, hiking, crocheting, writing/composing music, trying new coffee/tea, laughing with friends, or dreaming of a sunset over the lake. She's grateful to get to spend these next years in New York City celebrating God's work and heart for the city through RUF and seeing the gospel of Jesus become more beautiful and believable before her very eyes.
