New RUF Coordinator Announced

[DALLAS, TX. March 6, 2019] The Permanent Committee of Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) gratefully announces the unanimous recommendation of Mr. Will W. Huss, Jr. (RE) as the next Coordinator for RUF. Upon election by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America, Mr. Huss will join the staff on July 1, 2019, after his theological examination during the 47thGeneral Assembly and the approval of the 2019 General Assembly of the PCA. His tenure as Coordinator will begin on January 1, 2020.

“The unanimous vote by the RUF Permanent Committee signals our confidence that Will Huss has the spiritual maturity, experience and relationships with RUF, organizational and leadership skills, and business expertise needed to advance RUF’s mission of reaching students for Christ and equipping students to serve,” stated Ed Dunnington, PC Chairman.

Will Huss, president and CEO of Trehel Corporation, a design/build general contractor based in Greenville, SC, brings over twenty-five years of business experience to a ministry that is currently on 163 campuses with 393 staff. While Will’s business experience is remarkable, his spiritual leadership and pastoral heart are what persuaded the committee that Will would make an excellent Coordinator for RUF. Will’s love for and commitment to RUF began in 1989 during his freshman year of college when he became involved with RUF at Clemson University under the ministry of David Sinclair (TE). Will has served as a ruling elder at Clemson Presbyterian Church since 2000, where, as elder over college ministry, he has led numerous Bible studies and Sunday School classes for students. He has served on the State of South Carolina RUF committee and the RUF committee of Calvary Presbytery. Additionally, he has served as a member and as chairman of the RUF Permanent Committee. Employing his extensive experience in development work, Will has helped raise support for RUF for many years.

Search Committee Chairman, Jack Howell said, “Our search committee was as encouraged by Will’s love for the Gospel and deeply personal application of the hope of Christ, as we were by the wealth of experience he has had serving RUF.  Will’s backgrounds in the local church, on the college campus, and in the business world uniquely situate him to lead RUF through the opportunities and challenges ahead. Will brings the heart of a shepherd, the mind of an entrepreneur, the experience of a seasoned elder, and the theology of our Philosophy of Ministry to this position.  We are very excited to recommend him to the Permanent Committee.”

Rod Mays, RUF Interim Coordinator, will return to his previous role working in church relations for RUF. “We are thankful for God’s faithful and generous blessing upon Reformed University Fellowship these past forty-six years. We look forward to seeing God build His Church and raise up the next generation of men and women seeking to serve Him under Will Huss’s leadership in this next chapter of RUF’s story.”

Will and his wife, Missy, and their four children Webb, Mary Campbell, Branton, and Maggie reside in Clemson, SC.

After the unanimous vote, Will Huss said, “My wife and I are thrilled about this call. We have a passionate love for RUF, its people, and its mission. This ministry helped shape my wife and me almost thirty years ago in college and continues to be dear to our hearts.”
