Hello from RUF WashU! We are a WashU community exploring and experiencing the gospel together, and loving the campus out of the good news in Jesus through life-giving events and fellowship.
SJ and Susie are natives of Chicago. They have two wonderfully fun boys – Devin and Justin. SJ graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana- Champaign (BA Philosophy) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MDiv). The family geeks on sports, tv shows, and eating ice cream & donuts. The Lims moved to St Louis in the summer of 2014 to plant the ministry of RUF WashU.
Kristen and her husband Alex moved to St. Louis in the summer of 2016 for Alex to attend grad school at Saint Louis University while Kristen went on staff with RUF at Wash-U. Before coming to Wash-U, Kristen was an RUF intern at Texas A&M for two years. She and Alex met through RUF at Mississippi State University and are both so thankful for the impact this ministry had on their lives. The Thompsons enjoy any and all sports, both watching and playing, as well as getting together with family or playing games with friends. With both of them born and raised in the south, they are enjoying their first taste of mid-western life in St. Louis!

Kathryn spent one half of her childhood in Covington, GA and the other half in her father's hometown of Stanley, NC. She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2019 with a major in English. Kathryn joined RUF as a freshman and reluctantly became a part of the leadership team as a sophomore because her intern told her there would be brownies at the interest meeting. Her interns and campus minister deeply impacted her, and RUF was a place where she learned that she could be broken and vulnerable and still deeply loved. She is excited to love students at WashU as she has been loved. Kathryn enjoys hiking, reading public domain books, and making feline friends.
Noah graduated in 2018 from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where his family has lived since 2007. He studied Religious Studies and Philosophy as an undergrad, with hopes of pursuing more education after he finishes the RUF internship. Noah is passionate about Memphis and refugee and immigrant issues. He loves hanging out with his friends and playing board games and party games, especially Mafia. As someone with a lot of pride in his city, he's excited to make St. Louis his home and find all the weird and wonderful things that make it a unique city!
