Thanks so much for your interest in RUF at the University of Washington. RUF is a group of students on the campus of the UW that long to know and love Christ, be changed by him through community, live for a cause greater than themselves, and learn how the gospel impacts every aspect of the culture here at the UW.

RUF strives to provide a safe place where the convinced and unconvinced can come together to process Jesus and experience his gospel of grace. Wherever you're at in the process, you're welcome at RUF. Hope to see you soon!

Drew Burdette

Drew, and his wife Jessica, were called to work with RUF at the University of Washington in 2012. Drew is a graduate Covenant Theological Seminary and is an ordained pastor in the Presbyterian Church in America.

Although originally from South Carloina, Drew's love for coffee, the outdoors, and all things water, have made him fall in love with the city of Seattle. When he's not pastoring students at the UW, Drew loves to grill and eat delicious food, watch movies, hike, hang out with Jessica, and think of new ways to get Asa, their little boy, to crack up laughing...which isn't that difficult to do.

Jessica grew up in Memphis, TN, and received her masters of Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary. Jessica has a voracious... I mean voracious...sweet tooth and loves to cook and bake. The only thing that eclipses her love of all things sweet is her husband and her little boy, Asa. But don't let her hobbies fool you...Jessica loves to be active. She and Asa are always up for a walk at Greenlake and love when students come over for dinner. Friend her on Facebook and message her if you want to hang out. Don't be shy!

Matthan Stroethoff

Matthan was born and raised in Missoula, Montana. He grew up swimming, skiing, hiking and reading. His love for swimming led him to the University of Southern California. He swam for the Trojans for three years and achieved his Bachelor of Arts in Critical Studies from the USC’s Film School in 2014.

After graduation Matthan went on staff with the Navigators where he served for 6 months overseas before moving to California State University Long Beach in the Fall of 2015. Matthan is eager to continue walking alongside college students and ministering the timeless truths of Scripture to those in such a critical stage of life.

Even though he has hung up his competitive swimming goggles, Matthan continues to enjoy pushing himself physically (in the gym, on the slope, in the pool, or on the trail). But when he’s not outdoors you’ll find him board gaming with friends, devouring a good book, cooking (and eating) tasty food, or simply enjoying good company!

In the Summer of 2013 Matthan met a beautiful young woman named Catie Stone. The more he got to know her the more he fell in love. Matthan will have the honor of marrying his beloved Catie on July 20, 2016.
