Welcome to Reformed University Fellowship at UConn! Whether you are new to UConn or just looking to connect, we would love to meet you soon. We hope you’ll join us for one of our weekly large group gatherings on Thursday nights at 7 in Student Union room 310 (the SU art gallery). At these gatherings, we come together in an informal environment to get to know one another, worship together, and hear from God’s Word. Whether you are a believer, unbeliever, committed, or skeptical, we would love for you to be part of our community!

Born and raised in the sweet suburb of Houston, Texas called Sugar Land, Jonathan was accustomed to life with folks who didn’t look or think like him: it was a normal day at school if he heard multiple languages while walking through the halls. He arrived at the University of Houston in the fall of 2013 with an intent to pursue Music Education as a stepping stone to long-term international missions while teaching music. That was upended in the middle of his senior year, driving him to switch to a degree in Music and Religion, eventually graduating in December 2017.

RUF found him his sophomore year after a tumultuous first year; a few guys in his small group kept talking about RUF to the point where his curiosity couldn’t handle it anymore. One Wednesday night in the balmy Houston October, he showed up to Large Group, hot and sweaty after marching band rehearsal, to hear his campus minister, Blake Arnoult, preach the Gospel winsomely and refreshingly, right to him. He had found his on-campus home, where the community of RUF would pursue him with the mysterious grace and intimate love of Jesus week after week, semester after semester.

Connecticut-bound, Jonathan looks forward to the honor of showing UConn students the love of Christ he himself experienced while in RUF. If you’re looking for him, your best bet is to trek through the Connecticut forest or find a shady reading spot; he’ll be adventuring through both literal and literary environs. Or he’ll be sobbing at the latest Disney film. Or watching the UConn Ladies' Basketball dominate (Go Huskies!). Either way, he won’t have figured out the “Vibrate” feature on his phone.
