Sam Taaffe

Sam is a native of Dublin, Ireland, but has lived most of his life in the Southeastern US. He attended the University of Georgia, and graduated in 2006. Upon graduating from college, Sam had the pleasure of serving as an RUF intern at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). It was during this time that he met his future wife, Anne (a native of Lexington, KY and graduate of Auburn University), who was serving as the RUF intern at the University of Tennesse in Knoxville. After finishing up his internship at Ole Miss, Sam moved to Jackson, MS to attend Reformed Theological Seminary and work with college students at Millsaps College. Sam and Anne got married in June 2011, and have three boys, Finn (January-2013), Charlie (June 2014) and Patrick (October 2016). After Sam graduated from RTS with a Masters of Divinity, Sam and Anne moved back to Middle Tennessee in June 2013 to begin ministering at MTSU! When they are not at home or on campus you can find them hanging out with friends, chasing their kids, playing and watching sports, playing board games or grilling out. Sam and Anne also love going to concerts and are hoping that the students at MTSU will help refine their taste in music.

Matthew Alexander

Matthew has lived in the Nashville area all of his life. He grew up in Nolensville, TN and lived there for 11 years before moving to Murfreesboro, TN to attend MTSU for undergraduate studies. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in May of 2014 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Organizational Communication. During this time at MTSU, Matt met his future wife, Lydia. They got married in July of 2014 in Murfreesboro, TN. After being married, Matthew applied for the RUF Internship to serve the campus of MTSU.

When Matt isn't at home or on campus, you can usually find him at sporting events, catching a Dave Matthews Band concert, or playing sports around the Murfreesboro area. After completing the internship, he hopes to attend seminary at RTS Charlotte and become a campus minister.
Lydia is getting a degree in Comprehensive Special Education and hopes to become a teacher in that field. She grew up in Denton, TX and came to MTSU in 2012, where she met what she calls "the love of her life".

Lydia and Matthew love to have people over, and are very excited for this unique opportunity to serve the campus of MTSU and spread the Gospel to so many amazing students.
