A college ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America dedicated to the cultivation of a Christ-centered community on the campus of Jacksonville State University. We endeavor to be a rest stop for weary Christians and a safe place for the skeptic.
Grant grew up in Brookhaven, Mississippi, and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He graduated from The University of Alabama, in 2001, and completed his studies at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, in 2008. Before moving to Jacksonville, Grant served as the Pastor to Youth and Families at First Presbyterian Church, in Kosciusko, MS; and as the RUF Campus Minister at Holmes Community College. Grant was blessed to marry Camille Joseph Carroll, on June 30, 2001. They have two energetic sons, Joseph (8) and Nathan (5), and Lilly Fran, who was born December 5, 2013. The ministry of RUF blessed Grant and Camille while they were in college, and they are grateful for the opportunity to minister to students at Jacksonville State University.
Matt is beginning his first year as an RUF Intern at Jacksonville State this fall, and was so excited when he learned where he was being placed that he went and ordered a Jax State T-Shirt as soon as possible. He grew up in LaGrange, GA which he will tell you is the most “happenin’ place around.” When attending Auburn University, he learned the value of RUF and enjoyed time both in class and in many vocal ensembles. In May of 2015 he graduated from Auburn with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. However, many of his friends have plans to start a smear campaign if he ever gets involved with politics. Empowered by his long hair and self-deprecating humor, Matt hopes to be a positive voice in the lives of many students.
For now Matt is looking forward to reaching out to the students at Jacksonville State and serving them with God’s grace and guidance.
