The Campus Staff program is designed to offer women in the PCA a place to serve college students across the country. RUF Campus Staff can serve alongside and under the direction of a Campus Minister at a co-ed school, or as the RUF leader at an all-girls school. The heart of this ministry is to care for female students and help shepherd female interns as they minister to college students.
Our female Campus Staff receive ongoing training alongside our RUF Interns and Campus Ministers. They attend Orientation the summer before their first year on staff, and week-long trainings twice each year after that, in July and December. These weeks not only provide helpful guidance in ministry, but are also fun, encouraging and uplifting chances to fellowship with hundreds of other people serving in ministry with RUF.
The application for Campus Staff opens each fall, around November 1st. If your application is received and approved, you will be invited to attend the RUF Assessment Process in February to be further interviewed.
We're grateful for and excited about your interest in our Campus Staff program. Please reach out to Casey Cockrum, Director of Campus Staff, with any questions!
Casey Cockrum, Director of Female Campus Staff, is a native Mississippian, who now calls Tennessee home. She came to know the Lord through RUF at Mississippi State and upon graduation, moved to Memphis to work as an RUF Intern and Campus Staff. After completing her Masters in Counseling at the University of Memphis, Casey worked at Independent Presbyterian Church. In 2011, she returned to RUF and started working as the Counselor for Interns and Campus Staff. Over the past 5 years she has sought to develop and grow the Campus Staff program. Casey has been married to Colton for 13 years and they have 2 kids, Coleman (9) and Callie (7). You can find the Cockrums enjoying all things Willie Nelson and playing outside.
Latasha Allston has been on the campus of JSU since the beginning of this ministry! She is from San Francisco, California, and she was a student at JSU from 2008-2012! While at Jackson State, she was an active participant of RUF, Dance Ensemble, as well as the Track & Field Team. She graduated in 2012 and started working as a ministry intern with RUF. Shortly after coming on staff with RUF, she began working towards completing a Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy at Reformed Theological Seminary. After graduating from RTS in 2017, she has now come on as full-time staff. Tasha's focus area is outreach, ladies discipleship, and fostering community among our students. When she is not spending time with our RUF ladies, you can find her dancing, working out, and sitting in the sun!
Joy has been a full time mom, part time volunteer in ministry since she and Trip married in 1999. She has worked with middle school, high school and college students, in women’s ministry and peacemaking. She is currently pursuing her certification in Christian Conciliation and as of June 1st, 2018 is officially campus staff with RUF!
She has the incredible ability to get lost in Target, Whole Foods and any town she’s ever visited (or lives in). She loves reading, hanging out with students, making her 3 kids laugh hysterically and soy chai lattes. She and Trip have been in Lancaster, PA with RUF since 2013.
Alex grew up in Lookout Mountain Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia in 2014. She was placed as and intern at Boise State and loved it so much that she is staying on as Staff! You can find her hiking in the Boise foothills, playing spikeball in the parks, or eating at one of the fun restaurants in the city.
Shalaine grew up in Henderson, KY and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin on a cross-country scholarship. There she earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Education. She met Gavin at a Super Bowl Party her junior year and they were married in 2006. From 2007 to 2011 they lived in Charlotte, NC where Shalaine taught high school science while Gavin attended seminary. After spending around 12 years teaching science and math to middle and high school students she is excited to be putting her focus and heart into meeting with young women, having students in her home, and helping plan events for RUF. She loves reading, running, dancing, cooking, and spending time with her husband and children.
Rebecca Brown grew up in Ruston, Louisiana, until she attended Auburn University and UAB in Birmingham. She married Brian, an accountant, in 2000 and they made their home in Birmingham. They had babies in 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008, and hoped for a 10-year anniversary trip without said kids to somewhere warm and tropical. God's plan, however, was much better as he called Brian into full-time ministry and sent their family to St. Louis in 2009 for Brian to go to Covenant Seminary. Brian was called to serve as the RUF Campus Minister at the University of Nebraska in 2014, and Rebecca joined him officially as campus staff in 2016. They still look forward to an anniversary trip someday without the kids!
Rebecca enjoys reading, cooking, and lots of coffee-time with students and friends. She loves being organized but lacks the drive to organize because it's not a relational task. She used to have ten slots in her brain that perfectly retained information, but now that she's down to four gimpy ones, she has to use a Mead Five Star notebook she calls her "brain" to remember much of anything. Don't worry; her phone number is written on the inside cover in case she leaves it somewhere.
RUF has been a part of her story since her college days at Auburn, and it is a humbling gift that she can serve the Kingdom through this amazing ministry. She loves Jesus; she loves his Word. She loves Lincoln, the University of Nebraska, and its students. And she loves working for RUF at UNL!

Maddie is from Orlando, FL. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in English Literature. She is determined to give Jimmy Fallon a high-five during her time in NYC. She has lived in New York since 2015 and she would love for you to explore the city with her.
Mary Paxton grew up in Jackson, MS before heading off to college in Dallas, TX at Southern Methodist University. She was involved with RUF throughout her entire time in college ever since the RUF BBQ the first week of her freshman year. RUF impacted her life in such a profound way that she decided to pursue an internship with them after graduating in 2016. After two years of serving as an intern, she is excited to continue working for RUF as Campus Staff at Indiana University. You’re likely to find her either in a hammock or on a nearby dance floor with a coke and cheez-its in hand.
Hanna and Ian met through RUF as students and fell in love with international ministry in college. Hanna studied accounting in undergrad, got an MBA, and audited some RTS classes for fun while Ian was in seminary. They were married in May of 2015 and the following month planted a RUF International at Mississippi College while Ian was finishing up seminary at RTS Jackson. They moved to Evanston, IL in 2017 to plant a RUF International at Northwestern University. Hanna loves to travel, considers herself a foodie, and was an international student herself in South Korea.
Annalise is a Jackson, Mississippi native who graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in May of 2015. She studied psychology there and planned to go to medical school until God called her to RUF. She worked as an intern at SMU until 2017 when she was called to join us on staff for several more years. She is also currently enrolled at Dallas Theological Seminary in the Masters of Arts in Biblical Counseling program. When she's not on campus, she enjoys cooking, swimming, playing guitar, fishing and going out to dinner.
After growing up in Memphis, TN, Kathryn attended Washington & Lee University. There she studied Religion, got involved with RUF, and tried to learn how to play the guitar and become outdoorsy (both unsuccessfully). After college, she interned with RUF at Emory University in Atlanta. During her internship, she met and dated and married the RUF intern at LSU (Matt!). They moved to Charlotte, where Matt attended RTS and Kathryn worked for Bank of America. When Matt was called to be the Campus Minister at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, Kathryn also returned to vocational ministry with RUF there. They've been married since 2006 and together created 2 crazy yet cute kids, Zoe Kate and Reid.
Amy is a graduate of Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA where she received her degree in Middle Grades Education. After teaching in Birmingham, AL for a few years, she taught missionary kids in rural western Uganda with World Harvest Mission (now Serge). In 2011, Amy joined RUF and worked with RUF at Samford University for three years. In 2014, she moved to Raleigh to begin RUF at Meredith College. Amy has a love for many things in her life which include cooking of almost any sort, assorted podcast listening, entertaining at home with friends, reading as much as possible and recently... CROCHET! Some of her favorites are her dog Jasper, being outside with the neighbors, planting and caring for the flower beds in the yard, and watching quirky films. Amy is grateful for the beautiful women of Meredith College and considers it a great privilege to be a part of God's work on that campus!

Chelsea loves cooking and baking for people, reading any and every good book, watching college football, and going to art museums.
Jennifer Kent has spent the last three years working as the RUF Intern at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, alongside Campus Minister, Reid Jones. Jenn got connected to RUF through her Intern when she transferred to Kennesaw State University her sophomore year. She so enjoyed being pursued by her Intern that she wanted to do the same thing for other girls. Throughout college she volunteered for her church's youth group and decided that the RUF Internship was where God was calling her next. Jenn loved the internship so much that she decided that she wanted to do RUF Campus Staff and is super excited to serve and love the girls of Clemson.
In 2014 Jenn graduated with a BA Degree in Dance with a concentration in Ballet. While Jenn is no longer dancing, movement is still a part of her life (RUF dance parties are her jam). When she’s not hanging out with students or friends, she enjoys taking Yoga and Pilates Classes. She also loves hiking, or just walking in general. She also enjoys watching baseball (even on TV), but is always glad to attend any sporting event. When Jenn’s not trying to get in her Fitbit steps, you might find her watching The West Wing or Friends on Netflix.
Callie studied and did research science for nearly 10 years, first at Francis Marion University, then later at the University of Pittsburgh (PITT), where she earned her MS in molecular neuropharmacology.
It was in Pittsburgh that she fell in love with Christ, and God radically changed her heart and calling through the gospel, His church, and community. There also she met James, a linguistics and German student at PITT, whom she married in the summer of 2014.
After Callie finished an RUF internship at Penn State, she served as campus staff at Sweet Briar Women’s College in Lynchburg, VA. Callie has been recently called to serve at PITT.
Callie is delighted by conversation, dimples, and big earrings. She loves discussing how people relate, and she also loves to dance.

Monse grew up as a New Age believer until she was introduced to RUF through their English Club and became a Christian during her sophomore year. After that she stuck around in RUF as a student leader until she obtained her BA in International Relations at UNAM. Right after graduation, she joined RUF as an intern for two years, a job that she deeply loved. She went back to school to get a Master's degree in Political Science at El Colegio de México. In 2015, she joined RUF as campus staff along with Barush. Monse is an extrovert that enjoys being with people, all kinds of food, good coffee and interesting conversations. She loves reading (she's actually nerdy), learning new things, hanging out with friends and traveling.
Laura is from the land of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Forest, VA but also has Texas roots. She graduated from The University of Virginia in 2014 with a double major in Middle Eastern Studies and Religious Studies. As a PCA pastor's kid, she grew up in the RUF world but never thought she'd ever actually be an intern! After two great years of the internship at Emory (2014-2016), Laura will be joining Staff at Emory for the next three years while pursuing a MABS from RTS Atlanta. Laura loves cooking Moroccan food, reading a good book, and trees.
Savannah Shelby was born and raised in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Later she attended the College of Charleston where she majored in vocal performance (opera). It was through RUF that Savannah developed a heart for ministry and for people who feel unseen and alone. Through the community of RUF and the mentorship of her campus minister, Danny, Savannah discovered gifts for the first time that led to her consider campus ministry as a vocation. After serving three years as an intern at the University of Central Florida, Savannah will begin her first year as Campus Staff at the College of Charleston in 2018. Savannah has had the opportunity to minister to students on campus through discipleship opportunities, bible studies, giving talks, and has even used her vocal performance degree to serve on worship team.
Savannah loves reading, Netflix, going to Universal with her roommates, the beach, good food, hiking (when it’s not scorching outside), singing, Halloween, dance parties, Razorback football, and Mary-Kate and Ashley.
Cayla was born and raised in Northern Virginia, is the youngest of three siblings, and competes with her family dog, Nestle, for attention. She graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.S. in Physics and Sustainability, a major that she created herself because she could not make up her mind. She also minored in Process Management and Consulting, just to really take advantage of that "liberal arts" education. While pursuing these various academic endeavors, Cayla devoted a majority of time to extra curricular activities that included RUF. Through this organization she experienced an outpouring of love through the community that RUF fostered which is centered around the Gospel. Through the relationships with her own interns, and the hunger to continue growing in God's word, Cayla decided to pursue an internship with RUF after graduating in 2016. After serving as an intern for two years, Cayla is excited to continue ministering to students as Campus Staff.
When Cayla is not knitting in a corner alone, she is probably hanging out at a local coffee shop, (where she does not drink coffee) and is hoping for someone to launch into a conversation about spirit animals. She also has a passion for dancing and singing, neither of which she does well, but through which will encourage herself and others to be their authentic selves.

Now settled in Tucson, Brittany enjoys the desert wildlife, playing board games on the patio and reading books to her kids.
