RUF and the Worldwide Church

One of the clear distinctions of RUM is our connection to the church. We believe that the robust community of faith available at the local church is pivotal for the faith of our students during their four years of college and beyond. The rich diversity of the local church in terms of age, race, class, and vocation brings the even greater diversity of the worldwide church into sharp focus. We want our students to be motivated by a love for God and a love for our neighbors, that encourages them to enter cultures around the globe in order to present the countercultural values that can be found in the gospel. Because Christianity is a way of life, we want our students to develop a worldview that recognizes that every sphere belongs to the Lord.

This year, RUF and Mission to the World are sponsoring the PCA Global Missions Conference (“the Spirit moves”) in Greenville, S.C., Nov. 8-10. This is an incredible opportunity for our students and other Christians around the nation to consider their unique vocations and calling to love people and the nations.

Regardless of cultural differences, everyone needs the Savior, Jesus Christ to free them from bondage. At RUF, we want our students to consider their role and responsibility in Great Commission work. Many schools in the area plan to attend. What a wonderful opportunity for our students to catch the vision of the next generation’s responsibility of bringing the gospel to all people regardless of physical and cultural differences!

At RUF, our goal is to have 1,000 students attend the GMC conference this year. We are asking for 1,000 churches and individuals to provide scholarships for students at $100 per student. If you are interested in sponsoring a student, please send your donation to RUF, 1700 North Brown Rd, Suite 104 Lawrenceville, GA 30043 (mark your check RUF Scholarship Conference Fund). You also may donate online at (make sure to designate your funds to the Global Missions Conference).

So many missions movements in the history of the Church have started with university students led by the Lord. We want to encourage our students at RUF to take part in sharing the gospel globally.
